People need a place to gather, where all of the senses can be engaged. A Place is a space for such an encounter, guided by a sensorial experience of being present.

Each site is for re-connecting and re-charging, within a tailor-made environment in conjunction with curated happenings.

The third multidisciplinary collaboration between Linn and Amanda Maciel Antunes, part of IRRATIONAL EXHIBITS 11 at the Bendix building, A Place N.VIII featured GATES, an installation and performance.

A Place n.VII., 2018

A multidisciplinary collaboration between Linn and Amanda Maciel Antunes, installed at the sanctuary at Blue Roof Studios. A Place N.VII included a series of performances by the artists. Over several weeks guests activated the space which consisted of soil, water, yarn, burlap, hydrocal, enamel paint, paper, clay, videos and sound installation.

A Place n.VI., 2016–ongoing

Founded by Linn in 2016, Blue Roof Studios is a multidisciplinary art hub inside a former church in South Central Los Angeles. It is home to 10 artists’ studios, a communal kitchen and multi-purpose workshop space. By providing artists with affordable, flexible studios and public exhibition space, Linn seeks to expand the number of artistic opportunities for LA-based creative practitioners. Blue Roof is committed to supporting community initiatives and fostering a meaningful dialogue in a non-traditional cultural venue by hosting free events and exhibitions that explore such issues as access, diversity, and artists’ roles within the broader ecology of the city.

This private Beverly Hills, CA installation was designed by Linn and includes benches, a rock concrete table, brick, and wood plinths. Included are stoneware and bronze sculpture.

A place N.III, 2014

For this project Linn designed a 5,000 square foot sculpture garden, which includes 14 clay and bronze sculptures of her work. She also designed and made additional pedestals for other artists’ work, as well as dining tables and benches.

For the LAXART annual Gala at Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills, CA, Linn installed 21 pressure treated time plinths with glazed stoneware vessels in the mansion’s inner courtyard.
